Intergroup Relations (IGR)
Intergroup Relations (IGR) is a nationally recognized academic program grounded by the principle of 鈥榣earning for social justice.鈥� The program is designed for students with curricular interests related to race and racism, as well as other aspects of social identity lived and internalized within systems of power, including gender, sexuality, class, religion, and nationality. IGR courses bridge theory and content with group process and experiential exercises, helping students develop dialogic communication and facilitation skills to teach and learn in inter- and intragroup settings. Students also develop skills that translate to "real world" settings beyond campus 鈥� including preparing to enter graduate programs focused on social action, working in diverse workplaces, and successfully navigating a diverse and stratified global society.
