The 三亿体育官网 community is invited to attend a public event with Combatants for Peace (CfP) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13, in Gannett Auditorium. Activists will share their powerful stories of transformation and joint work for dignity, justice, and liberty for all. 鈥屸赌孴his event is part of 三亿体育官网's efforts to provide . Views expressed by participants and presenters are their own.

Dining Services

Valentine鈥檚 Day chocolate-covered strawberries 

鈥孌ining Services will be selling milk-chocolate covered strawberries for Valentine's Day. All orders must be received through the online order form by Wednesday, Feb. 7, to be picked up in The Spa on Wednesday, Feb. 14, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Contact John Winnek with any questions. 

鈥孧ountain bike raffle 鈥

鈥孌ining Services will be partnering with Pepsi to raffle off a mountain bike. To enter the raffle, purchase two Celsius energy drinks between now and the end of March at the Spa or the Atrium Cafe.

Announcements

February staff and faculty meetings 

鈥孴he first staff and faculty meetings of the spring semester will take place this Friday, Feb. 2. The staff meeting will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on the second floor of Murray-Aikins Dining Hall. The faculty meeting will take place at 3:30 p.m. in Gannett Auditorium. Employees have the option to participate in either meeting by Zoom.

鈥學yckoff Center presents Lovefest 

鈥孭lease visit Wyckoff Center for a Valentine鈥檚 Day open house from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 14. There will be stations with arts and crafts, emotional support animals, seated massage, reiki, a sound bath, and more. Sweet treats and snacks will be provided. We are guided by bell hooks鈥 wisdom from her book 鈥淎ll About Love: New Visions鈥: 鈥淭o truly love we must learn to mix various ingredients 鈥 care, affection, recognition, respect, commitment, and trust, as well as honest and open communication.鈥 Students, staff, faculty, and retirees are welcome to join.

鈥孭resident鈥檚 office hours 鈥

鈥孭resident Conner will hold office hours from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, and from 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday, April 4. All faculty, staff, and students are invited to request a 10-minute, in-person appointment. To register, please email presoff@skidmore.edu. Requests will be handled in the order that they are received.

鈥孲pring 2024 COVID-19 update 

鈥孉mid a recent uptick in cases of COVID-19, the COVID-19 Logistics Working Group encourages all members of the 三亿体育官网 community to review these measures, shared by email on Jan. 19, to help keep our campus community safe.

鈥孲EE-Beyond Award application for summer now open 

鈥孉pplications for the SEE-Beyond Awards are now open, due by March 21. SEE-Beyond invites students to apply academic-year learning to real-world challenges during the summer, and awardees will receive $6,000 to support a variety of academic endeavors, such as laboratory research, internships, and artistic residencies. 鈥屓谔逵偻 Student Exhibition 

鈥孴he 2024 Juried 三亿体育官网 Student Exhibition will have its opening reception from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 7, in the Schick Gallery, Saisselin Art Center. Each year, an arts professional selects student works for inclusion from over 200 submissions; this year, the juror is artist Wendy Ide Williams. For more information, contact Rebecca Shepard.

鈥孲GA Green Grant awards four student projects

鈥孴he SGA Green Grant, a $10,000 competitive grant open to all students interested in pursuing sustainability projects on campus, has awarded four student projects for its inaugural cycle. Prlojects will address waste reduction, food production, and sustainable landscaping; details can be found on the Green Grant webpage. For more information, contact Apple Alvarez.

Red Cross blood drive

鈥孡GBTQIA+ meet and greet

鈥孋omposting is back 

鈥孴he student compost team has deployed compost stations in residential hall first floor kitchens and buckets to each campus apartment, along with a central collection blue bin at each building laundry room. Departmental compost sites have also been deployed across campus. Consult the website for locations and details on what's compostable, and email our compost managers with questions. 

鈥孼ankel announces spring 2024 season 

鈥孍xplore a world of music in one of the Capital Region's premier concert halls; admission to all is free unless otherwise noted. The season鈥檚 kick off event will occur at 7 p.m. this Friday, Feb. 2, with a performance from 三亿体育官网's jazz faculty. For more information, contact Teresa Rockwell

A busy home weekend is on tap for 三亿体育官网 teams. The No. 9 hockey team will host Babson on Friday at 7 p.m. and Southern Maine on Saturday at 4 p.m. The defending Liberty League champion women鈥檚 basketball team hosts Ithaca at 5:30 p.m. on Friday in a 2023 championship game rematch. The men take on Ithaca at 7:30 p.m. The teams welcome Bard on Saturday with the women鈥檚 game at 2 p.m. and men鈥檚 at 4 p.m. For more information, visit the .
